Giving FAQs
How do I make donations to Monroe FUMC?
* Cash: You can place cash in the offering envelopes located in the pew pockets or registration pads. Be sure to complete the front of the envelope with your name, and designation for the gift (capital campaign, general fund) so the financial office can be sure to give you credit on your contribution statement.
* Checks: Your check can be made to Monroe FUMC. Again, please designate on the bottom left corner of your check how you would like for it to be applied (general budget, Here I Am, Lord Capital Campaign, or other). If you would like to send your check directly to the church, please address as follows:
First United Methodist Church
400 South Broad Street

* Credit Cards
* Stock Contributions
What is the difference in the Operating Fund pledge, the Church Restoration Project, and the numerous outreach opportunities available during the year?
The operating fund is the annual fund which supports the programs, ministries and physical church buildings. Pledges are being made currently to fund the projected 2017 operating budget.
The Church Restoration project is a 3 month commitment, beginning in December 2016, to be completed in March of 2017. The purpose is to first and only pay off entirely our church’s debt resultant from the planned Sanctuary renovations. Secondary, if there are any funds donated beyond that debt amount they will be designated into a directed fund that will be utilized to finance the next future step to be taken by this church. All visitors, guests and members continue to be encouraged to make pledges to the Church Restoration Project.
Throughout the year the church has numerous outreach giving opportunities which are not part of the annual operating fund. Among these are, FISH, The Alcove, the XYZ Scholarship Fund, Operation Christmas Child, Wesley Woods Mother’s Day Offering, United Methodist Children’s Home, and many others.
If you have any further questions about giving, or would like to discuss which method of giving is best for you and your family, please contact our Director of Finance, Lisa Peters.
