Our Mission Statement
The weekday Preschool of First United Methodist Church is an integral part of the outreach ministry of the church. We seek to help the children in our preschool to develop as God intended spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. Our overriding motive is to minister to preschoolers and their families in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

FUMC Preschool serves families from Monroe, Loganville, Social Circle, Good Hope, and Covington. We serve children with special needs whenever we can do so without impacting the other children unfavorably. For some families, FUMC Preschool has become a tradition with all the children in the family for two generations in attendance.

CURRICULUM:   SPECIAL EVENTS:
The curriculum at FUMC Preschool is organized around units of study. Each unit is designed to help the children learn social skills, broaden their knowledge of the world around him, increase their likelihood of success in elementary school, and in their understanding of spiritual truths.   We celebrate several special events each year in addition to Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Easter. Each year we have Pajama Day, when even the teachers come to school in PJ’s and our snack is pancakes and syrup. On Teddy Bear Day each child brings a teddy bear or his favorite stuffed animal. We have a picnic outside if the weather is nice. Our story for the day is, of course, The Teddy Bear’s Picnic. On Water Day we wear swimsuits and play in the sprinklers, float boats, and paint with water. Our picnic in the spring at the end of each school year gives an opportunity for the child’s entire family to enjoy our facilities and have fun together. Our four-year olds take field trips to several interesting places, including a pumpkin farm and a sheep farm.
